Nicaragua Surf Report: If you want to see up to date photos of surf conditions in Nicaragua, this is the place to check. These guys provide daily photos of many of our local surf spots, especially Maderas.

Zacatan Ecological Reserve: a 30-acre swath of regenerating tropical dry forest in Gigante. Established in 2000 and managed by Dr. Rob Dull. Come catch a glimse of a spectacular blue morpho butterfly, a green iguana, or a howler monkey. Just over a mile from Hotel Brio. Hiking trails and wet season waterfall/soaking pool.

Paso Pacifico: This non-profit organization is dedicated to conservation issues in the tropical dry forests of Pacific Nicaragua. Dr. Sarah Otterstrom heads up this organization and does a fabulous job of it! Conservation and responsible/green development go hand in hand, and Paso Pacifico is leading the charge by providing a plan for conservation and environmental stewardship in SW Nicaragua. Donations are encouraged.

Expedition School: We at Costa Nica are thrilled to be able to collaborate with Kimery Duda, Ariadna Mesen Arias, and the rest of the Expedition School staff on the Nica Chica / Nicaragua SURFERGIRL surf camps for women based in Playa Gigante, Nicaragua. The Expedition School offers many other expeditions both in the U.S. and abroad. Check it out!!
