Fish Nica |

The same prevailing NE trade winds that serve to create perfect offshore winds for surfing also result in increased upwelling off the Tola coast of Nicaragua. This injection of nutrient-rich bottom waters sustains a strong Pacific fishery in Nicaragua. You can expect to catch many types of fish, among them dorado (also known as mahi mahi or dolfinfish), wahoo, sailfish, sierra mackerel, bonito, barracuda, jack crevalle (jurel), yellow fin tuna, grouper (mero), roosterfish (gallo), cabrilla, and snapper (pargo). Our boats are outfitted with everything you need for a successful fishing outing: rods, reels, lures, bait. And our skippers know where the fish are...if they’re biting, we’ll find ‘em. These “super pangas” have the latest navigation and communications equipment. The pride of the fleet boasts twin engines, outriggers for trolling four rods simultaneously, a fighting chair, full surf racks, and even a stereo that has a connection for your ipod. We can fish inshore <2 km from shore or further offshore (4-8 km), depending on the type of fish and numbers the client would like to target. All of our fishing and surfing outings include cold soft drinks and water on the boat, as well as a canopy for protection from the tropical sun. We offer fishing as part of your weekly packages, but we can also set you up for day-long trips for $250/day (6 hours, up to 6 people). |
